Supporting the continuous growth in tourism, SGS launched a global certification program specifically designed for the hospitality industry during the 2017 Hospitality Philippines Forum held in Marriott Hotel Manila.

 

The SGS Hospitality Experience Program (HX) is a comprehensive property audit solution that aims to maximize guest experience and strengthen brand reputation.

With its four modules, namely Risk, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility and Quality of Service Experience, hoteliers and guests can enjoy peace of mind knowing that excellent service quality is in place.

Each module can be taken individually and requires a passing score of sixty five percent to be awarded the basic Hospitality Experience Silver Certification seal valid for one year which can be displayed on the hotel’s property, website and social media.

This summer, SGS has performed more than 10,800 audits worldwide. Overall result detected seventy-five percent of non-conformities are related to building issues, fifteen percent on water safety issues and ten percent related to food safety.

“Today, a minor incident can be magnified with a single online review, which increases the demand and pressure for experience excellence and commitment for all hotel brands”, said Peter Hvidberg, SGS Global Head for Travel and Hospitality Solutions.

SGS easily identified the Philippines as the launchpad for the program based on its optimistic infrastracture program, its 5.75% year on year percentage growth on international visitor arrivals and for being the leader in social media use based on a research published by We Are Social.

Hvidberg expressed that “it is more important than ever” for hotels in the country to ensure that their properties are doing all that it can to achieve the highest level of satisfaction.
