SGS in the Philippines (SGS Gulf Limited Regional Operating Headquarters and SGS Philippines, Inc.) was recently cited as one of the most active members of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) for 2013 during PMAP's 592nd General Membership Meeting and Induction. SGS contributed immensely to the human resource (HR) management profession and helped in the development of HR professionals through its active engagement in the PMAP’s activities and generous support to the programs and projects of the association.

On the same occasion, Michelle Garcia, HR Director of SGS in the Philippines and Regional Manager for Learning and Development received a Presidential Citation for her outstanding achievement as Director-in-Charge of the Website Development Committee of PMAP. She was instrumental in the development of innovative online learning solutions and her dedication is imperative in the continued improvement of PMAP's digital platforms. Michelle was also appointed as the Chairperson of PMAP's Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.

The awarding ceremony was held on January 29, 2014 at Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Makati City, Philippines. This year’s theme is “HR Readiness towards ASEAN Integration,” which highlights the critical role of human resource and people management as ASEAN transitions into one economic community come 2015.
