The first People Management Association of the Philippines’ (PMAP) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit with the theme, “Uplifting People’s Lives Towards Corporate Sustainability” was held last October 24, 2014 at the Henry Sy Sr. Auditorium, St. Luke’s Medical Center, Global City, Taguig City, Philippines.

During the event, Michelle Garcia, Human Resources (HR) Director of SGS Philippines and Regional Manager for Learning and Development of East-Asia, and PMAP’s CSR Committee Chairperson gave a talk on SGS’ CSR Evolution and Sustainability. She explained how HR can embrace a mindset of Corporate Sustainability. She also presented the “I-Am-In” Program: PMAP/PMAP HRM Foundation CSR Program. In support of PMAP’s initiatives and being an active PMAP member, SGS was also represented by Corporate Communications and Marketing Manager Benjamin Los Baños.

Around 200 participants from different organizations gained insights from real-life CSR experiences of various companies ranging from topics on Relevance of CSR in the Contemporary Environment, Individual Social Responsibilities Towards a Better Community, Assessing the Impact of CSR Program, Corporate Sustainability and Its Impact on the Bottomline, An Advocacy for Children: The Kesz Valdez Story, CSR Vision and Experience, Engaging Employees Towards Sustainable CSR Programs and Tanging Yaman Alagaan Natin Program.
