SGS Participates in the 10th National Shrimp Congress
As an advocate of safety and sustainability in the seafood supply chain, SGS proudly participated as an exhibitor in the recent 10th National Shrimp Congress. The three-day event with the theme “Maximizing Benefits of Shrimp culture for a Modern Globally Competitive Spirit,” was held at the SM Trade Hall, General Santos City on November 11-13, 2015.
Hosted by the SARGEN Shrimp Stakeholders’ Association, Inc. and the Philippine Shrimp Industry, Inc., the event aimed to support the shrimp industry to enhance capabilities to respond to the demands in both domestic and international trade. Other key topics discussed in the congress were shrimp research and development in the Philippines, culture techniques, and shrimp disease control.
The event allowed the SGS team to share with the attendees information on tests and certification relevant not only to the shrimp industry but also to the entire seafood supply chain including microbiological and chemical testing, environmental monitoring, floral, fauna and ecosystems sampling and monitoring, and BRC, GAA, BAP, MSC and Global Seafood Industry Certifications..
