To reintroduce the implementation of the 5S methodology and to help better understand its advantages to any organization’s performance, we at SGS in the Philippines hosted a forum with the theme “5S Forum 2017 – 5S and Beyond” last 9 June at the SGS Academy, Makati City.

Led by the Certification and Business Enhancement (CBE) Division, the forum gathered participants from various industries, giving them an interactive overview of the 5S methodology through the “SGS Go” mobile app.

Attendees also got a glimpse of how the SGS Regional Operating Headquarters (ROHQ) apply the 5S methodology as well as the solutions available at every stage of its implementation.

To further emphasize the effectiveness of the 5S method, SGS PH CBE Division Manager Roger Villanueva discussed its benefits once applied in the workplace as well as in meeting the requirements of various ISO standards.

About 5S Methodology

The 5S Method helps industries ensure that the workplace is neat and orderly, leading to more productivity and more efficient processes. It is composed of five (5) steps, namely seiri (sort), seiton (set in order), seiso (shine), seiketsu (standardize), and shitsuke (sustain).
