UAE Extends Halal Certification Deadline in Asia
The Philippine Halal Export Development and Promotion Board (PHEDPB) announced the deadline extension of the implementation of UAE Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 10/2014 until end of July 2017. This provides Philippine exporters of Halal products ample time for compliance.
The resolution mandates all Halal products entering the UAE such as food, beverages, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, including associated production systems and services are required to be certified by UAE-Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (UAE-ESMA).
According to DTI, there are approximately 300 local exporters to UAE.
SGS, an approved certification authority, provides testing and certification services to Philippine exporters to UAE that are necessary for compliance. If interested, you may email firstname.lastname@example.org
