SGS Donates Solar Powered Lights for the Dumagat Tribe in Bulacan
SGS Philippines has brought light to over 40 families of the indigenous Dumagat Tribe in Angat Norzagaray, Bulacan through its partnership with Liter of Light Foundation.
SGS has always been an advocate of sustainable energy and renewable resources thereby having Liter of Light as a perfect partner for this initiative.
Several employees of SGS Philippines participated in team workshops where solar-powered light bulbs were assembled and tested under the supervision of the Liter of Light team.
The entire indigenous community, with at least 245 Dumagat tribesmen, benefited to this activity. The distributed solar-powered lights comprised of pipe lights, house lights with mobile charging system and street lights. Along with these, SGS also provided gift packs of food, personal care products and school supplies for each family.
