Taking care of employees is paramount in looking after the business in this time of crisis.

Immediately after SGS in the Philippines activated its BCP, the Human Resources Division rolled out its online learning sessions that are aimed at helping employees cope with this critical situation. Focused on maintaining productivity and promoting holistic wellness, the series of online pocket sessions provided employees with the essential information and practices on how to better deal with this so-called "new normal".

Keeping it Together for SGS Employees

The Learning and Development Team facilitated the initial sessions i.e "Coping with Change at Work", "How to Stay Productive While You Work from Home", and "Online Meetings Made More Effective". The team also partnered with advocates of wellness starting with Mr. Gino Cabigao of KultureKo who ran the session on "Keeping One's Sanity in Check During COVID". He shared practical tips and even demonstrated exercises that promote wellness of the mind, body and soul. Culminating the series is the "Mindfulness" session, facilitated by Ms. Joana Alberto, Managing Partner of Ignite Center for Peak Experience. In this session, employees were taught about easy-to-do mindfulness exercises that help combat stress and anxiety, maintain positivity, and eventually focus on one's internal navigation system called the GPS – Genius, Purpose, Service.

In this time of uncertainty where everyone is forced to distance from each other, technology proved to be one vital tool to stay connected with one another so that "psycho-socio-spiritually" one is able keep it together.
