The training covers the Office of the Commissioner (OCOM), Customer Care Center (CCC) and 5 ports.

In pursuit of providing better customs services to its stakeholders, the said virtual training was conducted to key employees who will in turn cascade information to the rest of the team. The whole day session was conducted by an SGS Auditor and Moderator using the Zoom platform.

The virtual training discussed to employees on how a quality management system is used as a tool to support standardized rules, compliance and improvement of various systems. It also served as a guide to the Port’s top management as the organization continues to aim for ISO 9001:2015 certification to meet international standardized customs administration and services.

As part of the 10-Point Priority Program for 2020:  #4 ISO Certification of Customs Offices, the Interim Training and Development Division, in partnership with the SGS Academy Philippines, the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Foundation Course was conducted. The Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) was executed using the Zoom platform from July 8 to 13, 2020. This covered the seven offices/ports–the Office of the Commissioner (OCOM), Customer Care Center (CCC), Port of Manila, Port of Clark, Port of Davao, Port of Cagayan de Oro, and some employees from the Port of Batangas.

The objective of the training is to provide participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of ISO 9001:2015 as a tool for business improvement, which emphasizes commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
