SGS Philippines’ Environment, Health and Safety division has finally awarded its very first Disinfection Monitored Mark to Park Inn by Radisson North Edsa.

A short intimate celebration and awarding ceremony was held at Park Inn’s Banahaw Function Rooms 1 and 2, 2-3 PM last September 29, 2020. The certificate was officially awarded to Park Inn by Radisson North Edsa which signifies that they have been fully assessed and has demonstrated compliance against the requirements of the SGS Disinfection Monitored Program.

Park Inn by Radisson North Edsa is located at Quezon City which is interconnected to  SM City North EDSA Shopping Complex - one of the Philippines’ largest commercial centers. The hotel is under the Radisson Hotel Group which is one of the world's largest and most dynamic hotel groups with seven distinct hotel brands in more than 1,100 destinations around the globe. The company’s popular hotel brands include Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.

All the 20 attendees during the awarding ceremony strictly observed the basic health protocols including proper physical distancing and wearing of face coverings. SGS Philippines was well-represented by Ms. Ysabel Ventura, Business Manager of Environment, Health and Safety Division, along with Ms. Danica Bartolome, Technical Sales Specialist handling the account of Park Inn by Radisson North Edsa. Members of the other business divisions of SGS Philippines were also present to witness the awarding ceremony.

On the other hand, to represent Park Inn by Radisson North Edsa was Mr. Nils Rothbarth, General Manager together with the key persons of concerned divisions headed by Ms. Lee Ann Jose, Hotel Hygienist, Ms. Joyce Gaspar, Executive Housekeeper with Park Inn’s managers for Human Resources, Security, Revenue Reservations, Food and Drinks, Front Office, Marketing and Communications, and Engineering departments.

Mr. Rothbarth on his opening remarks shared how the SGS Disinfection Protocols support their existing hygiene and sanitation standards. He is very grateful to see the result of each team members’ commitment and dedication. He emphasized how Park Inn by Radisson North Edsa remains committed to have a clean and safe environment with maximum hygiene standards enabling them to protect their guests, team members, and partners. SGS Philippines has guided Park Inn in developing and implementing their cleaning, disinfection, and sanitation protocols with global standards that guarantee the highest level of safety and cleanliness for the hotel’s guests. He also took the opportunity to thank the people behind the achievement of the SGS Disinfection Monitored mark. 

Sharing that Park Inn plays a huge part in the tourism industry which was greatly challenged by the pandemic, SGS Philippines’ Ms. Ventura expressed how glad she is that the industry is now coping, conquering and heading towards the new normal. SGS has developed the Disinfection Monitored Program anchored to its global marketing campaign Next Normal Solutions which were established to support clients in the economy’s reopening and was carefully designed considering the global standards based on WHO and CDC.

The Disinfection Monitored Program is a three-step program, which starts with a virtual audit or the GAP assessment followed by on-site audits, sampling and testing. Park Inn by Radisson North Edsa was able to successfully comply with all the required processes and documentations and  most importantly, they passed the sampling and testing procedures for ATP and the Covid-19 swabbing.

SGS works hard in partnering with several leaders from various industries like hotels, restaurants, and retail businesses to develop the scope of activities behind these services.

The SGS Approval Mark assures that hotels, retail stores, restaurants, offices, and other facilities and establishments implements effective procedures for cleaning and disinfection thereby offering customers and staff a peace of mind as they enter and use the facilities knowing that risks have been mitigated. The SGS Approval Mark may only be awarded if the following criteria have been met:

 

  • 100% rate of ATP Swabs below threshold in 1st or 2nd round
  • 100% of Score in the Selected Critical Questions in the Checklist
