The National Federation of Hog Farmers Inc. was established in 1990 as an umbrella organization for hog farmer associations in order to monitor national legislations which may affect the interests of the numerous, multi-faceted players in the industry.
Kalayaan One is a complete program that takes into account all of the necessary factors to ensure bio-security inside the farm, to prevent animal diseases, to ensure continuous and unhampered profitability of livestock farming in the country, adherence to standards presented by the government and private institutions to make food production safe and sustainable.
Kalayaan One promotes animal health and nutrition by preventing the impact of highly economically devastating diseases. The program supports the Filipino farmers in ensuring food safety, traceability and sustainability. It is important to identify the history and current disease situation, the short- and long-term impact and involve all the stakeholders public and private.
This program should provide a step wise procedure on how to effectively prevent highly important animal diseases and to monitor its progression in the country and to properly adjust accordingly to maintain freedom from the said animal diseases.
This program aims to encompass all the bio-security guidelines in livestock production and correlate into 1 packaged program to cover all corners of animal health and nutrition as a whole.
