SGS is Now Officially Accredited as a Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory
SGS Animal Health and Nutrition sector has received its certification from the Bureau of Animal Industry last December 23,2020. The said certificate was received personally by Mr. Alejandro Mailom Business Manager of SGS Philippines Inc.
The timely accreditation of SGS as a Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory testing African Swine Fever via RT-PCR method came in response to the government and private sector’s initiatives to prevent further spread of the disease in the country and to support the efforts in the repopulation of farms in Luzon to help mitigate the supply and demand.
The accreditation also fast tracks the current program which SGS also promotes: Kalayaan One which is a complete program that takes into account all of the necessary factors to ensure bio-security inside the farm. This aims to prevent animal diseases, to ensure continuous and unhampered profitability of livestock farming in the country, adherence to standards presented by the government and private institutions to make food production safe and sustainable.
